Frogtown Puppeteers Present The Headless Horseman of Sleepy Hollow

In this comedic version of the classic Washington Irving tale, schoolteacher Ichabod Crane helps the Headless Horseman find a new head and a spookier image.  Meanwhile, a jealous Brom Bones tries to run Ichabod out of town as they both vie for the affection of Katrina Van Tassel.

Frogtown Mountain Puppeteers is a full-time touring puppetry troupe based in Bar Harbor, Maine, and comprised of three siblings – Erik, Brian, and Robin.  Founded in 2000, Frogtown Mountain Puppeteers has performed all over the East Coast and beyond at festivals, schools, libraries, and theaters.

Meet Maine Author Mary Lawrence

Mary Lawrence, Buxton resident and author of the Bianca Goddard Mysteries.  Mary Lawrence is the author of the Bianca Goddard Mysteries which are set in Tudor London in the final years of Henry VIII’s reign. Book 1, “The Alchemist’s daughter,” was released in April, 2015 and was followed by book 2, “Death of an alchemist” in 2016. Book 3, “Death at St. Vedast,” came out in January of 2017. Books will be on hand for purchase; signing will be available.

Children and their parents will have the opportunity to do some early trick- or -treating.  The Cultural Center will be visiting a number of area businesses for some pre Halloween treats.  So, come dressed in your finest Halloween costume and join in the fun.

Are you READY TO BE SCARED?

Children 12 and their families under are invited to join us for a spooky Haunted House where ghosts, witches, zombies and other spooky creatures can surprise you at every turn.  Your entry fee of $5.00 per family (family of 4-each additional family member is $1.00) is a donation that goes directly to the Newport Cultural Center Children’s Programs.  Come join us for a ghoulish-good time!
