NCC Friends of the Library

Members of the NCC Friends of the Library include (from left to right) Jane Briggs, Victoria Alexander Lane, Debbie Ferrell, Pam McKinley, and Maureen Scott (12/13/2013).

The Newport Cultural Center Friends of the Library meet on the second Thursday of each month (10:00) at the Cultural Center. The group is a 501 (c) 3 organization, focused primarily on supporting the mission and programs of the NCC. They have two main fundraising events each year. Every Memorial Day, the Friends organize a large used book sale. They also participate in the annual “Sparkle” fundraiser organized by the Sebasticook Valley Chamber of Commerce. New members are always welcome to join the Friends.

Pam McKinley – President

Deborah Ferrell – Secretary

Jane Briggs – Treasurer

Chris Fowler – Director

The NCC Friends of the Library are major sponsors of our summer children’s programming, and also helped provide our special children’s activity computer. It is thanks to their support that we offer free audio- and e-book downloads to our patrons. They also co-sponsor our free Maine Discovery Museum passes (in conjunction with the Newport Woman’s Club).

The Newport Cultural Center’s Friends of the Library hosted a book and bake sale at the NCC.  Here members Jane and Maureen talk a bit about the club.
